Message from Tyra: Thank You from the Bottom of My Heart!

Hey y'all -- I hope you are having a great summer. I have been shooting Top Model, first in Los Angeles, and most recently overseas in a 'top secret' location. You may have seen photos on the Internet of me in this 'secret' location, but I'm not telling (plus, maybe I was just vacationing in that city and not shooting Top Model).
What I will tell you is that the Daytime Emmys were scheduled for June 20th -- and I knew I was going to be far, far away in a foreign country, with Mr. and Miss Jay, Nigel and Paulina and a bunch of girls who 'wanna be on top!' But there was nothing that could stop me from being in Hollywood for the big event. I boarded a plane and flew for over 12 hours so I could walk down that Emmy red carpet and be with my producers. Being nominated was a huge accomplishment and I brought my Momma with me for her unconditional love and support.
When I signed up to do a talk show, before I had even taped my first episode -- I had people tell me, "Tyra, you'll never make it. You'll get canceled in two weeks." I remember being shocked and hurt by that immediate negativity, but then I was shown the statistics that 95% of all talk shows FAIL -- and I remember thinking 'what have I gotten myself into?!' After a few minutes of being stunned, I pulled myself together and said, "I AM GOING TO DO THIS." I vowed to give it everything I had, because I wanted it to work so badly. Also, I believed what I have to say to women out there is important enough to fight for. Read more!

FINALLY!!!!!!!! TYRA WINS AN EMMY
by M@tthew| 20 Jun 2008|| Comments Disabled|
I never thought I would be this happy to see her win. I am so happy for her right now.
-- "The Tyra Banks Show" won the Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding informative talk show in Hollywood Friday night.
"I'm shaking," Banks, the talk show's host and executive producer, said as she took the stage to collect her prize.
"I have such a strong history with daytime television. My mama... Where's my mama? My mama's crying like a baby! Hi Mama," Banks said, explaining how she spent many days when she was growing up, watching soap operas and talk shows with her grandmother while her mother worked two jobs.
"To be here on this stage, Grandma Fanny, this is amazing!" Banks said.
Her show beat out "Dr. Phil" and "A Place of Our Own" for the honor.
I'm adding photos right now you guys, so keep checking back |
Itty bitty pretty bras
by Angel| 05 Jun 2008|| Comments Disabled|
If only there were a good name for them. Flat-chested? Bust-challenged? Something involving pancake imagery? So when it came time for Jane Alden Hodgdon to name her company, she kept it simple: Itty Bitty Bras. It's a C-cup world, so Hodgdon wanted to give some hope to B's, A's, and even AA's.
"I was tired of not having a bra that fit," says Hodgdon, who lives in California but grew up in Chicago's northwest suburbs. "I found myself wearing a lot of adhesive petals and such, and still wanted a little lift and coverage, without all the extra padding."
The only fashion models who have breasts are in the Victoria's Secret catalog. On the last season of "America's Next Top Model," when a Size 10 "plus-size" model won the competition, Tyra Banks taught the winner how to hunch over and hide her beauties.
Banks herself has admitted to considering breast-reduction surgery. If she'd have followed through, she'd have joined the ranks of Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore, Pamela Anderson (who frequently changes her mind) and Soleil Moon Frye.
